Our last update for 2025 includes several updates and improvements, most notably the all-new Smart Search!
Smart Search
LexWorkplace has had fast and flexible search since its inception. New in December 2025 is a reworked and improved search (and more) experience that we call Smart Search.
The new Smart Search provides users with the ability to quickly find clients, matters, and documents, as well as the ability to create new items and even jump to specific settings, all from one central, universal search bar.
Now users can perform a variety of actions and operations right from the Smart Search bar in the top-left of LexWorkplace. Simply start typing anything in the Smart Search bar, and LexWorkplace will suggest a number of related items (that you may be searching for) and operations (that you may wish to conduct).

Improvements to Search Results Page
We’ve also improved the Search Results page in LexWorkplace.
The Matter name (for search results found within a Matter) is bold and clearer.
The Matter and full path/breadcrumb (e.g., XYZ Matter > Documents > Folder > Subfolder) is clearer, and it’s more apparent that each folder/item in the breadcrumb is a clickable link (users can click anywhere in the path/breadcrumb to jump to that precise location).
For search results that are found within a Matter, the associated Client for that Matter now shows in the search results, giving users better context for what they see in search results.

Can Rename Items in Trash Bin
Earlier this year, we released enhanced Delete & Restore functionality, including the new Trash Bin. As part of this update, as a general rule, items in the Trash Bin cannot be modified or edited (but can be restored). This included renaming a Document in the Trash Bin, which LexWorkplace did not permit.
Now users can rename Documents that have been moved to the Trash Bin, without having to restore first.
Miscellaneous Bugfixes
This release also includes a number of minor bugfixes, UI, and UX improvements.
